Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society
Description
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is one of the great celebrations of arts and culture on the planet. For three weeks in August, the city of Edinburgh becomes an explosion of creative energy from across the world. Artists and performers take to hundreds of stages all over the city to present shows for every taste. From big names in the world of entertainment to unknown artists looking to build their careers, the Fringe caters for everyone.
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society was founded by artists to nurture and uphold the Fringe's values of inclusivity, experimentation and imagination. Our role is to offer information and support to anyone who wants to participate, to provide the tools to help audiences navigate the Fringe, and to promote the festival in its entirety.
The founding principle at the heart of the Fringe is to be an open access festival that accommodates anyone with a desire to perform and a venue willing to host them. No single individual or committee determines who can or cannot perform at the Fringe; the Fringe Society does not run any venues or curate any performers.
