Karina Isoton
Karina Isoton is a consultant in fundraising dedicated to fostering collaboration between Brazilian and U.S. nonprofit organisations through educational initiatives. She has extensive experience in providing lectures, conferences, workshops, and courses in marketing and communications to non-profit organisations and corporations in international environments. She has done extensive consulting work and fundraising research for micro, small and medium-sized NGOs in Brazil and the United States.
A decade ago, Karina moved from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil to the United States. Because of her efforts, international fundraising has changed dramatically for the better as she has repeatedly demonstrated that there is a large, growing, untapped market for nonprofit organisations in the international business arena.
Karina holds a degree in Global Marketing (major: nonprofit organisations) from Baruch College (New York City); a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from Centro Ibero-Americano (Sao Paulo); an MBA in Administration (specialisation: environmental strategies) from Fundacao Getulio Vargas (Sao Paulo); and a Specialisation in International Business from Universidade de Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo). Currently, Karina is working on a Masters Degree in Fundraising from LaSalle (Rio Brande do Sul).
Karina’s volunteer work includes: (1) Fundraising Researcher for VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired (New York City); (2) Fundraiser for the McCarton Center (New York City); and (3) Mentor at the SCORE Foundation (South Carolina and area).
