Majibu CIC
Description
Majibu - focuses philanthropy on effective, local organisations in developing countries.
Majibu is a philanthropic venture investing in local NGOs working in East Africa (Phase One 2026 -2028) and Asia (Phase Two 2028 -2030) supporting them on their pathway towards maximum impact and sustainability.
Majibu exists to promote and strengthen highly effective locally led, community driven NGOs with funding and bespoke organizational strengthening, to enable them to deliver their activities effectively, replicate and grow, and sustain their organizations and interventions in the long-term.
Majibu recognizes that locally led organizations are best placed to develop solutions to the challenges they face in their communities, but they lack the funding to continue their successful projects or strengthen their organizations.
Many smaller effective local NGOs are not known to individual philanthropists, who often remain risk averse and fund the larger, well-known organisations.
Majibu will bridge this divide, by identifying local organisations and linking them with philanthropic investors through the Majibu fund. They will benefit from unrestricted funding and bespoke, in-country technical support and the donors will benefit from risk mitigation through robust due diligence, grant management and a return on their investment measured by local organizational impact and sustainability.
